Teri Garr is an actress and producer. She is best known for her starring role in the film, "The Burning Bed," and for her appearance in the CBS television series, "Murder, She Wrote." Teri was born in Hollywood and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. She left home at 16 to pursue a career in New York City. After several years struggling as a waitress and an assistant to a Broadway director, she began acting in commercials and then appeared on television in such shows as "One Day at a Time," "The Mod Squad," "Gomer Pyle," and "Beverly Hillbillies."
